How to apply (step-by-step)
How to apply (step-by-step)
A practical flow you can follow for most residence permit cases.
Step 1: Determine your basis for stay
Your basis (work, study, family, business) drives the document set and the correct application path.
Step 2: Collect documents you’ll usually need
Most cases require similar core documents, plus extras based on your basis for stay.
Step 3: Submit at the Voivodeship Office (Urząd Wojewódzki)
You typically book an appointment, submit originals, and provide biometrics. Processing times vary, so earlier is better.
Step 4: Track your case and respond quickly
If the office requests extra documents, responding fast helps avoid delays or negative decisions.
Step 5: After approval — residence card & address registration
Once approved, you’ll collect a residence card and may need to register your address (meldunek) depending on your situation.
