TfL Weekend Closures Sept 12–13: District, Circle, and Suffragette Lines Offline
Major disruption is planned on London's Transport for London network this weekend, with the District, Circle, and Suffragette lines all facing full or partial closures between 12–13 September. Visitors heading to events should plan alternative routes.
Lines Affected
This weekend (September 12-13) planned disruption on Transport for London services will hit tubes and trains across the city, with three major services – the District, Circle and Suffragette lines – impacted by closures.
District Line
On Saturday September 12 and Sunday September 13, no trains between Edgware Road and Aldgate (via Victoria).
Circle and Suffragette Lines
On Sat Sep 12 and Sun Sep 13, no trains between Tower Hill/Edgware Road and Ealing Broadway/Kensington (Olympia)/Richmond/Wimbledon.
What to Expect
These closures are part of routine weekend engineering work on the London Underground. Several other lines are set for minor service changes. Alternative Tube services and local buses will be busier than usual.
For newcomers and expats: If you're planning to attend events across London this weekend — including the Waterworks festival in Docklands, Open House Festival building tours, or any other activity — check TfL's journey planner before you leave. The affected lines cover much of central and west London, so using buses or other Tube lines may add time to your journey. Download the TfL Go app for real-time routing alternatives.
