mZUS App Security Tightens: Longer PIN and Android 11 Required from September 4
ZUS updates its mobile app with new security requirements. From September 4, 2026, users must set a PIN of 6–8 digits and run Android 11 or newer to access their ZUS records and contributions.
The Social Security system (ZUS) rolled out mandatory security improvements to its mobile application on September 4, 2026, affecting all self-employed individuals and business owners who use the mZUS app to monitor their contributions and benefits.
New Requirements:
- PIN length: Must now be 6–8 digits (previously shorter)
- Android version: Phone must run Android 11 or later
The changes aim to strengthen data protection and reduce the risk of unauthorized access to sensitive contribution records. ZUS emphasized that existing users need to update their PIN to comply with the new rules—the app will not function without this change.
What this means for you: If you use the mZUS mobile app to check your ZUS account, Social Security contributions, or pension records, update your device to Android 11+ and reset your PIN immediately to avoid losing app access. Alternatively, you can continue accessing your ZUS account via the web portal (www.zus.pl). The deadline to switch to the new PIN is September 4, so do not delay if your phone is on an older Android version.
