Poland Posts 269,000 Job Ads in September as Hiring Rebounds
Polish employers listed 269,000 job openings in September 2026, marking the fourth consecutive month of year-on-year growth at 2%. However, gains are concentrated in healthcare and office jobs while manual-work vacancies decline.
September Job Market: Growth Without Balance
In September 2026, employers posted 269,436 new job ads across the 50 largest recruitment portals in Poland—2% more than a year earlier and 5% more than in August—marking the fourth consecutive month of year-over-year growth. Healthcare and office jobs are driving the growth, and manual work is the only industry in the red.
The September count beats 2020, 2023, and 2025 levels but trails stronger years in 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2024. Grant Thornton cautions that the number of ads alone does not tell whether companies are creating new jobs or filling vacancies left by people who quit—a distinction that matters for understanding genuine labour-market health.
What This Means for Foreign Job Seekers
If you're a foreigner hunting for work in Poland, healthcare and office-based roles offer the strongest hiring momentum. Manufacturing, construction, and logistics may still advertise vacancies, but the shift toward service and professional-level positions is clear. Conversely, if your skills lie in manual or unskilled labour, competitive pressure is increasing; consider upskilling or pivoting to sectors like healthcare support, where demand outpaces supply even as Poland's population ages.
