Foreign worker hiring in Poland requires new Labour Office notifications from March 2026
Employers must now notify Polish Labour Offices within 7 days of hiring foreign workers and within 15 days if they lose employment. New fees for simplified hiring from Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and Armenia rise to 400 PLN, a fourfold increase.
From March 5, 2026, Poland introduced a new compliance requirement for employers: every new employment contract with a foreign worker must be reported to the Labour Office (PUP) within 7 days. If a foreign worker leaves their job, the employer has 15 working days to notify authorities. Failure to meet the deadline triggers fines.
Fee Increases for Simplified Hiring
Simultaneously, the declaration of entrusting work—which simplifies employment of workers from Armenia, Belarus, Moldova, and Ukraine—now costs 400 PLN as of December 1, 2025. This represents a fourfold increase from previous fees, significantly raising the administrative cost of hiring from these countries.
These rules create ongoing compliance obligations for employers hiring internationally. Foreign workers remain essential to Poland's economy, with nearly 1.29 million legally employed by the end of 2025.
If you're a foreigner already working in Poland under a sponsorship or planning to hire for your business, ensure your employer has filed the required Labour Office notification within the 7-day window—penalties apply to both parties for missed deadlines.
