Federal By-Elections August 31: Who Can Vote and Why It Matters
Three federal by-elections will be held August 31 in Beaches–East York (Toronto), Chicoutimi–Le Fjord (Quebec), and North Vancouver–Capilano (BC). Canadian citizens aged 18+ who meet residency requirements are eligible to vote.

Who Can Vote?
Canadian citizens who are at least 18 years old on election day are eligible to vote if they live in one of the three electoral districts, with home address in that district as of July 26 through August 31, and are registered.
What This Means for Newcomers

Elections Canada offices in all three ridings will open soon to help with voter registration and questions.
