Senior Managers and Professionals Invited in Latest Express Entry Draw
IRCC issued 500 invitations to senior managers with Canadian work experience on July 10 at a CRS cutoff of 392—the lowest yet for this newly created category. The 37-point drop from the previous draw signals growing opportunities for experienced professionals.
Latest Express Entry Draw Favours Senior Managers
The latest Express Entry draw was held on July 10, 2026, and IRCC issued 500 invitations in a Senior Managers draw with a CRS cut-off score of 392. The July 10 round marked the second time IRCC targeted senior managers with Canadian work experience, but at a much lower CRS threshold than before (392 vs 429), representing a significant drop of 37 points.
For 2026, IRCC has introduced new priority occupational categories, including senior managers and researchers with Canadian work experience, as well as transport occupations and certain military recruits. This represents a strategic shift to address labour shortages in leadership roles. For years, executives were disadvantaged by Express Entry because job offers no longer carry the same weight they did before 2024 and age penalties hit senior candidates harder, but the Senior Manager category changes that.
What This Means for Senior Professionals
Candidates must have at least 12 months of qualifying experience within the past three years in an eligible senior management role. Express Entry draws held in 2026 to date have mostly focused on candidates already in Canada, specifically those with Canadian work experience or provincial nominations.
If you're a manager or executive with at least one year of Canadian work experience, this category may offer a significantly faster pathway than general draws. The declining CRS cutoff suggests IRCC is actively prioritizing senior-level talent—make sure your Express Entry profile reflects your management-level role and recent Canadian supervisory experience.
