July 20 Express Entry draw invites 511 PNP candidates at CRS 744
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada held a Provincial Nominee Program–specific Express Entry draw on July 20, 2026, inviting 511 candidates with a CRS cutoff of 744—a jump of 36 points from the prior PNP round on July 6. This was the 14th PNP draw of 2026.
On July 20, 2026, IRCC issued 511 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence through a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)–specific Express Entry draw. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cutoff was 744, up from 708 in the July 6 PNP round, reflecting a 36-point increase driven by higher base scores among new provincial nominees entering the pool.
The draw continues IRCC's established pattern of mixing PNP-specific rounds with Canadian Experience Class and category-based draws throughout July. Earlier in the month, the July 7 Canadian Experience Class round issued 2,000 ITAs at CRS 517, and the July 9 French-language proficiency round issued 5,000 ITAs at CRS 420. As of July 19, the Express Entry pool held 231,533 profiles, with IRCC having issued 97,612 invitations across all rounds so far in 2026.
What this means for PNP candidates
The single most valuable advantage in PNP rounds is the 600-point CRS boost that comes with a provincial nomination—it allows candidates with modest base scores (144 points in this case) to compete at much higher cutoff levels. If you hold or are pursuing a provincial nomination from Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, or another province, securing that nomination remains your highest-leverage move toward an ITA. Candidates without a nomination should focus on controllable CRS factors: improving language test results, obtaining a Canadian education credential assessment, and gaining Canadian work experience.
