The established parties suffered significant losses: The ruling conservative party (CDU/Christian-Democratic Union) is punished; with 17.2 per cent, its result has more than halved (-19.9). Meanwhile, The Greens made a surprisingly significant gain, achieving their best result to date with 8.9 per cent (+3.0).
Coalition Challenges Ahead
