Poland to Automate 800 Plus Child Benefit Renewal From June 2027
The government plans to eliminate yearly 800 Plus benefit applications, shifting to automatic renewal via ZUS employment records starting June 2027—a major simplification for families with young children.
Parents across Poland will no longer need to reapply annually for the 800 Plus child benefit (800 złote per child per month). The Family Ministry plans to make 800 Plus renewals automatic using ZUS employment data, eliminating the need for yearly applications—families will only submit once per child.
What Changes in June 2027
New rules will take effect June 1, 2027, after the government completes legislation in the coming months. Parents will only file once per child, with the option to update information if family circumstances change. The system will rely on automatic renewal based on ZUS (social insurance) data.
The switch requires ZUS to reprogram its benefit-processing systems, which is why implementation is delayed to 2027. However, the government project is due by June 30, 2026, so details will be finalized soon.
For expat families: Foreign parents working in Poland and eligible for 800 Plus should expect a major relief after 2027—no more hunting for deadlines or risking benefit gaps from a missed application. Until then, the current system remains: you must reapply every June for the June 2026–May 2027 period. File by April 30 to avoid delays. Once the automatic system launches, verify your employment status is correctly registered with ZUS, as the renewal will depend on it.
