Delete your MyHAbroad account

This page explains how to request that your MyHAbroad account and the data associated with it be permanently deleted. It applies to both the MyHAbroad website and the MyHAbroad mobile app (published as com.myhabroad.app).

Option 1 — Delete it yourself, in the app

You can delete your account directly, at any time, without contacting us:
  1. Sign in to MyHAbroad (in the app or at www.myhabroad.com).
  2. Open your Profile from the menu.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and open the “Danger zone” section.
  4. Tap “Delete account”, type your email address to confirm, and confirm again.

Your account and personal data are deleted immediately, and removed from our backups within 30 days.

Option 2 — Ask us to delete it for you

If you can’t sign in, email admin@myhabroad.info from the email address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We verify ownership of the address and complete the deletion within 30 days.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:
  • Your profile (name, headline, bio, photos, links, location).
  • Your community posts, comments, and reactions.
  • Your direct messages and any image/video attachments.
  • Your marketplace listings and roommate listings.
  • Your service-provider profile and leads (if any).
  • Your saved document scans and translations.
  • Your login credentials and notification settings.

What may be retained, and for how long

We keep only the minimum required by law or for security after deletion, and never for marketing:
  • Security logs (e.g. IP addresses used for abuse-prevention and rate-limiting) for a limited period, then erased.
  • Records required by law (if any apply to you) for the statutory retention period.

These records are not linked to your profile and are not used to re-create your account.

Delete some data without closing your account

You don’t have to delete your whole account to remove data:
  • Delete individual posts, comments, messages, and listings directly where you created them.
  • Download a copy of your data first via Profile → Download my data.
